Sponsorships
Individual Child Sponsorships
For $30 per month, you can both meet the daily needs of your sponsored child and help the people taking care of him
become self-sufficient! Rather than simply handing out money month after month to meet daily needs, AYA developed
a program that would allow guardians caring for orphans or street children to invest in income-generation projects. AYA
sets aside $9 per month of your sponsorship fees until the end of the year, at which time the guardian caring for your
child selects an income-generation project they want to start. This $108 could be used to buy a cow, chickens or a
sewing machine, for example.

If these investments are made wisely, over time the guardian or home where the child is living will become able to
support themselves and the children. In the meantime, the $17 per month the guardian receives from your sponsorship
will enable them to adequately feed, clothe and educate your child, probably for the first time in years. (The remaining
$4.00 per month pays a Country Director to oversee the program in the country and AYA administrative costs).

You will receive an email update on how your sponsored child is doing every four months and a new photograph and
letter once each year. Click here to see individual children in need of sponsorship.

School-Fee Sponsorships
AYA has partnered with a number of Kenyan, Ugandan and Indian schools to inexpensively educate children in
their neighborhoods. It only costs AYA $18 to send a child to primary school for a year. So if you can donate $18
per month, you will be able to send twelve children to school for an entire year! You will receive an updates from
the school twice per year, and a new photograph of the children and letters from them once per year. Click here to

Secondary school sponsorships are also desperately needed. These are children who have, despite terrible
obstacles, made it through primary school and now have a fighting chance at a brighter future. Their only problem
isthe costs of secondary education are way beyond their means. It costs AYA $15.00 a month to send an
individual child to secondary school in Kenya or Uganda. Click here to see top-scoring students in need of
